Richard Ross

Director

Chartered Wealth Manager & Chartered Financial Planner

With over 30 years’ advisory experience, I help business owners navigate complex financial decisions, especially around succession, exit planning, and creating long-term value. My background spans construction, corporate advisory, and entrepreneurship, and I’ve served on boards across sectors from property to financial services. I understand the risks and rewards of business life because I’ve lived them.

I’m particularly interested in how businesses grow, transfer knowledge, and plan for the future. My MBA research with UEA explored what makes business transitions succeed, and I’ve continued that curiosity through further study in behavioural economics and wealth management. I’m both a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and a Chartered Financial Planner—an unusual combination that reflects my cross-disciplinary approach.

I sit on the UEA School of Economics Strategic Advisory Board and chair the Norfolk & Norwich Festival. During the pandemic, I launched The Sounding Board, a not-for-profit initiative supporting local businesses and tackling food poverty.

Outside work, I’m a husband, dad, and grandad. I finally retired from rugby at 66 and now enjoy hill walking and long-distance cycling, including a slow but satisfying 1,000-mile ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats that raised £150,000 for charity. Louis the labradoodle keeps me moving the rest of the time.
