I’m intrigued by markets and the business process. That you can have an idea, set up a stall and people will actually come and buy from you is, to my mind, a special kind of magic…
Richard Ross
Richard has wide experience in advising both Private Clients and Companies. He started his working life in the construction industry where he spent 10 years in managerial positions before launching his own development company. He later worked as a corporate adviser for a major insurance company before setting up Chadwicks. He has held board positions in companies in the construction, property, horticulture and financial services sectors and has a wide knowledge of the risks and rewards of business life.
He is interested in business development, in particular how knowledge is managed within companies. He conducted a detailed research project into the factors that influence the success of business transfers in association with the University of East Anglia as part of his MBA. Richard also holds a Masters in Wealth Management and the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning. He is shortly to start a Graduate Diploma in Economics at the UEA in preparation for his study towards a PhD. Unusually he is both a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments and a Chartered Financial Planner.
He is a former Board member of the Norwich Business School and sits on the South Norfolk Board of Young Enterprise where he has been involved in delivery of YE programmes to schools in the area. He is also an Independent Visitor with Action for Children - a role that he finds particularly rewarding.
Married to Yvonne for more than 30 years they have three children, a son-in-law and three splendid grandchildren. At weekends he is still a keen, if somewhat pedestrian, rugby player. He also confesses to be a Middle -Aged Man in Lycra and has cycled from Lands End to John O'Groats - completing the 1000 mile trip in 10 days as part of a team that raised £150,000 for charity.
